L’affair Audrey Truschke and Indian RW

Yugaparivartan carried out a big expose on evangelist roots of Audrey Truschke and how it explains anti-Hindu bias in her studies. After all one needs some ulterior motives to whitewash crimes of a religious bigot like Aurangzeb, something that Truschke has been happily doing for the past some time.

The Indian history written by Marxists for the past 70 years should leave no doubts in the mind of any sane reader that the whole field of history writing is wide open for pushing political agendas.

The article cites the Ayodhya dispute as an example of historians suppressing or dismissing archaeological evidence and argues that entrenched scholars can evade accountability for decades.

While it was expected that Truschke would receive support from her ideological allies, the article criticizes some Indian right-wing commentators who insisted that only a formal scholarly rebuttal was legitimate.

It argues that “writing a scholarly rebuttal” can become an endless trap when institutions and peer-review structures are controlled by hostile academic networks.

The article also raises conflict-of-interest questions about scholars whose family or institutional networks are involved in evangelical activity in India.

The way forward proposed is for internet Hindus to investigate the backgrounds and institutional affiliations of academics and media figures who denigrate Hindu civilization.
