How Assam ended up in a mess- a tale of greed

Assam saw a brutal terrorist attack today. The land which strongly repulsed Mughal forces back at the heights of Mughal power has no option but to watch in horror as events unfold today. The fate of Assam was sealed some hundred years ago when greed took over and changed the demographics of this place forever.

A once quiet place had big potential for tea plantation which was exploited to the hilt by the then powers.

The area under tea plantation steadily went up beginning 1881, which quadrupled in the following five decades. The cheap labour needed for tea plantations were brought from other areas in Bengal and Bihar. The migration which was initially forced upon by the British colonial system was later endorsed by the middle class, which was convinced that no economic progress can take place without immigration.

What made the problem worse was that most of the immigrants were poor Muslims from Bengal. Comparing the data, one can immediately see that predominantly Muslims were migrating to Assam. Almost every decade saw an increase in Muslims in Assam due to immigration, since 80% of the migrants were Muslim.

To completely understand the impact of immigration on Assam, the above table comes handy — it gives the total percentage of immigrants in the original stock. It is an unprecedented story of mass immigration where in five decades the immigrant population rose from 5.3% in 1881 to 26.6% in 1931. Since almost 80% of these immigrants were Muslims, this increased the stock of Muslim population by more than 20% in five decades.

The history of the Brahmaputra Valley for the last five decades is defined by events which took place more than 100 years ago. The hate for non-natives in Assam is very well justified due to the increased pressure on natural resources in the valley. This was a constant problem even at the time of the first phases of immigration as Assam lacked food grains, which had to be regularly imported from other areas. The once contractual workers who came for short durations kept settling down, thereby increasing pressure on resources further.

Modern independent India did not reverse the problem but further exacerbated it by allowing unhindered immigration post independence. If you look at the current position of the state, Muslims are roughly 39% of the population in the 2011 census, which is supposed to cross 50% in the next three to four decades.

The economic greed which changed the demographics of the state some hundred years ago charted the course of collision for the next hundred years. Those who think the Assam problem can be solved by development have ignored the historical reasons for the conflict, which will increasingly take religious fervour in the future. Even those who think about the idea of deporting illegal Bangladeshis only contemplate sending back those who came post 1971 — i.e. after the formation of Bangladesh. But will it solve the problem? Probably not. The damage was already completed in 1931. Muslims outbreeding other communities when in minority is a proven fact. So throwing back those who immigrated after 1971 can solve the problem momentarily by buying some time, but it will only push the conflict to the future as Assam will become a tinderbox again. Any migrant cut-off date less than 1881 won’t change the fate of the Brahmaputra Valley.

The army of Aurangzeb must be laughing in its grave on how the Assamese willingly or unwillingly brought their own doom — after having successfully resisted the hordes of barbarians some three centuries ago.

The three type of Leftists
Leftism is an interesting phenomenon that goes a long way back in history. Jim’s blog has a nice post describing history since 1400 A.D as a series of leftist singularities.

Leftism is Phariseeism. A leftist is supposedly holier than you are, and so you should obey him. Leftists then compete each to be holier than the other, so Leftism’s religious roots are swiftly left behind, as leftism becomes ever more extreme.

I really like this characterizing of Leftism, it is succinct and consistent with the evolution of what is deemed socially acceptable in modern society. For instance, consider today’s mainstream acceptance of homosexuality. In Western society, such an acceptance would be unheard of 50 years ago. But leftists enforced their religious beliefs on the population through media and University, making it immoral to think of homosexuality as abnormal. Readers can convince themselves that there are many other “bigoted” notions our ancestors held which are accepted by mainstream society today.

Leftists drawing from the characterization are then religious zealots, who impose their worldview on the non-believer, the heathen who is blinded by the false gods of Capitalism and Family and must be brought into the light of the Lord our God Marx. Interacting with the zealot, you are sure to be met with disdain, contempt or a sense of superiority which seems completely unwarranted similar to the monotheist gazing upon the unwashed Yindoo. This leads me to classify them into three broad categories:
1. The Evil
2. The Hoodwinked
3. The Moron
The Evil

The Evil are aware of the designs of Leftism and what the ultimate society under Leftism would look like. It would probably look like Stalin or Mao who contributed to the death of 94 million in the 20th century. They are aware that Leftism is a totalitarian ideology and that it will be used to oppress a large number of people for the benefit of few elitists who will live like kings. Think along the lines of Animal Farm.

The Hoodwinked

The Hoodwinked are intelligent people, who have to fix their metaphysics. They are typically the type who have opened themselves to rational thought but have accepted a number of metaphysics which are either incongruent with reality, or which require more nuance to be coherent. This is the salvageable sect of Leftism which may be returned home to the ideas of their ancestors. Time spent on them may be wasteful, but occasionally rewarding.

The Moron

The Moron are the self-righteous charlatans who exhibit a variant of the Dunning–Kruger effect. They make no attempt to challenge the ideas they have been presented with, despite a minority of them being intelligent enough to do so. They adopt destructive customs without thought as to what the logical conclusions of those ideas lead them to. An example of this is the Indian feminist who believes in the right to abortion but laments female foeticide. You cannot reconcile the two ladies, no matter how hard you try. Leave the name of your favourite leftists and their type in comments.

I am not quite sure which are the more dangerous, the Moron or the Evil. Without the Moron the Evil have no troops; without the Evil the Moron do not become the Moron. It is my observation that the Moron outnumber the Evil, and in a system of democracy (mobocracy) this is helpful to further the leftist agenda. As you should know by now: Cthulhu swims left. Vigilantism of GauRakshaks- lies peddled by media

Every once in a while, cow protection and associated vigilantism makes news in the national media. It is not difficult to guess that any time Hindu ideals and beliefs are up on stake, the national media and so called leftist intelligentsia tries every text book trick to denigrate their traditions.

But all this drama, arguments and counter-arguments, is noise and makes it hard to focus on underlying reasons for vigilantism. To understand the real problem afflicting Bharat, one needs to go deeper and understand. India is a weak state which likes to legislate new laws every other day but which are difficult to enforce.

Lets talk about simple case of stealing. Have you ever tried to register a case with the police for normal theft? Police is usually disinclined to catch thieves and would hardly pay any attention to solve such crimes. So, what happens once in a while? Every once in a while people catch some thief red-handed and give a nice thrashing to make an example out of it. Is it civilized way of dealing with petty thieves? Probably not. What does it points towards? It points toward a weak state which loves to legislate but cannot enforce law.

With this information, now go back to the case of cow protection. Most states in India have cow protection laws which like other laws do not get enforced properly. Cow protection vigilantism is no good. But if the state does not enforce law, those who are emotionally involved will take some action given the state has itself enacted the law but does not want to enforce it.

Cow vigilantism is just another face of state failure. Better enforcement of cow protection should bring down cow vigilantism because people would not have to enforce cow protection themselves, and not increase vigilantism as claimed by the liars in the media.

And don’t forget that the usual suspects will try to divert the attention towards food habits and oppression of dalits and club them with Muslims, but that does not even lie at the heart of this matter. For now, cow protection is part of legislation and hence it is duty of the state to religiously enforce it. All concerned citizens should think about how to improve the public service delivery. Cow vigilantes signify a deeper malaise afflicting the Indian state.

Accidental tweet by Irfan Habib shows his true Islamist colors

In a rare Twitter exchange between Irfan Habib and a fellow twitteratti exposed the real side of the Indian historian. There was a tweet by a twitterati on how Islam is a religion of violence and their holy month of Ramzan represents the time most sacred for Muslims to kill non-Muslims.

But the notorious historian commented on how Ramazan is also a month where Muslims were also killed by Jihadists in large numbers and that it’s not just kafirs who are getting killed.

The article argues that this was a rare display of the historian’s underlying Islamist bias, usually obscured beneath Marxist terminology in history writing.

It then criticizes the disproportionate coverage of Islamic dynasties in Indian history textbooks while the Cholas, Marathas, Vijayanagara and other Hindu empires receive less attention.

The article concludes by asking what the BJP government is doing to correct what it sees as an injustice against Hindus in the education system.

Who should pay for your pregnancy?

Motherhood is one of the biggest and most wonderful gifts of nature to women. But in the modern economy, when women are increasingly joining the workforce, it has taken a backstage and has become only one aspect of the multifaceted lifestyle of a modern woman. Even after the advance of modern medicine, women still have to take considerable time off from work to fulfil their motherhood duties. So in such a situation, the question arises: who should pay for the cost of motherhood, or pregnancy to be precise?

There is a story doing the rounds in the media where a girl was fired from her job when she asked for leave on medical grounds over and above the maternity leave that she had planned, due to complications during her pregnancy. It is a delicate issue and many people will react emotionally without looking at the whole picture. It is an expected reaction as traditional Indians still associate high value with motherhood, although it is increasingly disparaged as a worthless exercise by liberals.

It is a very broad topic of discussion and has a very profound impact on the future of the nation, so it is essential to distil the case down to who benefits from a new child. Only when we know who is the ultimate beneficiary can we decide who should bear the cost of pregnancy.

The decision to have a child is a private decision. Given how parents these days plan the time and number of children they want to have, it is almost a no-brainer to associate this decision with the parents. Since couples decide to have or not have a child, it means they are the sole beneficiaries from this decision, at least when they make the decision. Although a nation benefits from having a young population, most couples do not take it into account when making this decision. Since they hardly think of the nation or society during this decision-making, we will ignore this issue until the end before briefly touching on the ramifications.

So, if a decision accrues private benefits, who should pay the cost? It is very simple if the case were made for buying a sports car. One does not ask his or her employer to gift them a sports car if he or she likes the car. Also, the employer gains no benefit from the employee having a sports car. A happy employee working hard is a side benefit, but there is no direct relation. Similarly, couples usually do not ask their employers if and when they can have a child, nor do employers gain any private benefit from their employees having children.

This implies that the decision to have a child is a private decision and parents should take this into account before going forward with it. If this requires a woman to be out of work for a long and significant amount of time, it is not the duty of the firm to pay for her maternity leave while she does not work for the firm. There are two intertwined issues at play here which are often ignored. Firstly, small firms do not have enough working capital and often scrape through with their daily payments. The increased cost of an unproductive employee, if a pregnant woman takes maternity leave for three months, makes it difficult for many firms to survive. Also, it is morally wrong to expect the firm to pay for a private decision of its employee. Of course, if the firm is happy to pay for the pregnancy of its female employees, it should do it, but it cannot or should not be enforced by the state. Secondly, if the state decides to enforce compulsory maternity leave with benefits, it leads to the next problem, which is discrimination. If a small firm knows that its female employee will become pregnant and thus become unproductive for the firm in the future and it cannot fire her, the firm will just stop hiring young females. So the idea to correct one problem will lead to another problem.

Since the Indian economy still depends significantly on the contribution of small and marginal firms, transferring the cost of the private decision of having a child onto the firm will have very bad consequences for the growth of new and young firms. But this also opens questions of discrimination in social policy. What about women who do not work and are stay-at-home mothers? Or women who work in contractual or small jobs, where firms are not forced to pay for maternity leave? The last set of women will not get the benefit of transferring the cost of their private decisions onto anyone else. So from a fairness perspective, why should a small section of middle-class women get subsidized by private firms for getting pregnant, while poorer women, also more vulnerable and needy, who work in the unorganized sector or don’t work at all, do not get any benefits?

So who should bear the cost of having children? The cost of bearing children has been borne by the family throughout history and that is how it should be. The parents bear the future cost of bringing up their children, so why should it be different during the pregnancy period? Of course, firms can allow women to rejoin the workforce once they have fulfilled their maternal duties, but it is unfair to expect them to foot the bill for private decisions of individuals. It is daylight robbery if the state relinquishes its duty and passes on the tax to firms for its moral obligations.

This brings us to the last point in this debate. While individuals and parents usually ignore the public benefits of having children, the state can very well understand such benefits. Not only does a young generation keep a healthy demographic and contribute future taxpayers, but new people also contribute new ideas. Parents might not always recognize this value, but a nation values future citizens. This is the reason that although feminists lambast motherhood in the West, their governments still try to subsidize maternity. Some countries like France, which pay high maternity benefits, have been able to maintain decent demography despite their young women increasingly trying to opt out of motherhood. But India is not a rich country and can hardly afford the cost of such benefits when it cannot even feed everyone. So, what is the way forward? India should inculcate the value of the family system in its citizens and shut down the propaganda against a big population, as most Indian states are already below replacement-level fertility, i.e. 2.1 children per woman. Putting emphasis on the family system will allow women to take help not only from their husbands but also from extended family during times of maternity, thus decreasing economic and emotional pressure. On top of that, government should decrease the cost of raising children by spending money on building healthcare infrastructure and repealing laws like RTE which have increased the cost of education, thus increasing the cost of having children. But before that, government should stop burdening young firms which are the growth engine of the economy and are needed for generating future jobs and income.

Feminists lied to women about career and marriage

The march of feminism continues unabated in the middle class sections of India. It has not yet attained the ugly militant form as in the west but given the popularity of the feminist memes among young girls, it would grip a large section of society sooner or later. The most important reason for the rise of this militancy would lie in failed or low satisfaction marriages for career girls.

Swati is currently working in Railways and is turning thirty in a month. Swati and her parents have been trying hard to find her a suitable partner for the last 2 years but it has not been going well as most of their calls don’t get returned by the boys’ family. Having studied at JNU, there was never a dearth of suitors for Swati where she completed her Masters before spending few more years to crack civil services exam and join Railways. She ignored most of the arranged marriage proposals during her Masters, but now finds herself on the wrong side.

To understand the genesis of this problem, one has to look at the destroyed societies of west. How did it happen in the west? Feminists brainwashed women that they can attain everything in the world i.e. both great career and great partner. But since feminism is a political ideology, it is hardly rooted in any natural phenomenon.

Attraction to prime age fertile women had been a very well understood phenomenon in all cultures until the march of feminism which denied nature and bashed it as a patriarchal value. Those who believed this propaganda are now paying the cost in terms of depression pills and failed marriages.

But why is this even a problem for India? This is not a problem for India yet but it will become one very soon in the future. Career girls and their families are already feeling the heat in the marriage market due to ignoring traditional values and delaying marriage till they are 30 years old and un-marriageable. This is a big problem in China as well where 30 year old women are given the title of “leftover women”.

Unsurprisingly this problem does not vanish away even though India has a very poor sex ratio. The reason behind it is that the successful women and their families practise hypergamy and would not marry a beggar or anyone below their standards, while rich boys will marry prime age fertile women.

What is the way forward to this situation? Given advancement in technology and easy solutions to household chores, it is natural that most women will join workforce. But this should not happen at the cost of building future families. It is important for both the girls and their families to not ignore the forces of nature and give equal weight to both career and family. Career can be advanced even after marriage and there is no reason to turn to depression pills later in life to prove oneself modern and flag bearer of a stupid ideology which is disconnected from reality.

Jihad doctrine for dummies
The world is constantly bombarded by Islamic Jihad but common people increasingly find themselves confused in understanding the core of the ideology and how it functions. Then they learn it the hard way when they are showered with bullets like in Orlando and Paris or mowed down by a big truck like in Nice. So are you an average Joe who wants to figure out what jihad actually is without having to read the religious texts or doing a PhD in theology? This article is for you, so read on.

Let’s start with a story to understand how the blame game and victimhood narrative starts. For this let’s go to Mankhurd, a Mumbai slums currently dominated by the Muslims. But Mankhurd was not so always. This notorious and filthy slum was populated by people from UP/Bihar and from the interiors of Maharashtra. In the 1990’s Shiv Sena built huge complexes for them in lieu of their land. While those complexes had the capacity for housing all the people of this slum, the areas surrounding these complexes continued to be populated over the years.

With the passage of time green flags started popping up all over the place, replacing the Shiv Sena flags – indicating that the non-Muslims had mostly left the filthy areas and moved on to the housing colonies. But the space they left behind was aggressively occupied by the Muslims. Now, you have these ugly complexes housing people and spread out all over the place and slums marked conspicuously by “hazrat-blah-blah” boards and green flags. Even if you take the ghettos of South Mumbai, there are one room houses with Muslim families that are seven or eight people strong. This as anyone can guess correctly is no mistake of the government or due to oppression by non-Muslims, but the result of the incessant Muslim breeding.

Now take this model to any country or even history. There is a pattern behind consistent miserable conditions of Muslims in all countries and the consistent blame game which they play. So how does it work? The basic doctrine of Islam is to deliberately follow an unsustainable plan leading up to a resource crunch later. This makes sure that the resources are few and those claiming them are too many which invariably leads to conflicts, as intended by the doctrine.

Want food? Kill that animal and eat it. Want sex? Marry that underage teenage girl and rape her without consent. Want more sex? Marry 4 girls, there is no one stopping you. Want children? Have 10, who’s stopping you. Want brides for your sons? Kidnap Kafir women, what’s stopping you? Claim Islamophobia and start a riot. Want land? Demolish a Hindu temple and occupy his land. Want even more land? Invade a neighbour and occupy his land. Everything has the halal stamp of approval as long as you believe in Allah and his messenger, so no need to worry about common courtesy, humanity or morality.

Once a Muslim is thoroughly done exploiting the resources available to him in his own surroundings and the number of people and their demands keep growing, there are going to be conflicts for demanding more resources, thus leading to politicians taking advantage of them by claiming that all the misery which Muslims face is due to evil kafirs who took all the resources and discriminated against the innocent Momin. So the Momin gets agitated and becomes a terrorist to take revenge. Not for a single moment does he think that the kafir is rich not because he has stolen anything from the Momin but because he follows a sustainable survival plan, practices planned parenthood, has less kids, saves money, sends kids to good schools, has better standard of livings, and hence his creed prospers. As opposed to that, a Momin has 10 kids, sends them to madrassas, they pass out with no practical real life skills and then complain that kafirs have occupied all jobs and left no jobs for Muslims.

So what is the next step? Build on this self-imposed disenfranchisement, organize into groups, and start fights with others. That is basically the Jihad doctrine. That is why all Muslims vehemently oppose any attempts to popularize birth control and family planning among Muslim women. To summarize the steps:
1. Create resource crunch
2. Cry victimhood and blame the rest
3. Organize and fight
It is a complete template for an eventual class war leading to a violent struggle, just like the one Karl Marx eulogizes. That is why Islam is not a spiritual belief like Hinduism or Buddhism. It is a complete political theory of organization of people for an expansionist political goal. It is more fair to compare it with other political ideologies like communism instead of spiritual theories like Hinduism. That’s why, if a person becomes more Hindu or more Buddhist, there is no problem to society, but if someone becomes more Muslim, then you better start building bomb shelters.

Why terrorism has a place in civilized world

France is hit again by terror in Nice and the usual suspects are in hyperdrive to prove it has nothing to do with Islam. The charge against realists is led by the bastion of political correctness i.e. New York Times.

So what should be the response of average Hindu? Should he mourn the death of those in Nice or let west bleed the way they have let Islamic fundamentalists bleed Bharat? It is always sad when innocents die but they are being made pawns in this global game where their western governments take “calculated risks” hoping that giving weapons to Islamists will serve their national goals and weaken countries like Bharat with significant Muslim population. France in particular, has given increasingly sophisticated war material to Pakistan, submarines, anti-ship Exocet missiles, Mirage planes, surveillance gathering equipment and other support systems. At that time of these sales Bharat was begging them not to do it, obviously they didn’t care as who gives two hoots to the life and blood of innocent pagans. They need to be crushed by the Abrahamic doctrine. It is the same with the UN resolution on terrorism which Bharat authored and is still pending for 15 years since no western nation wanted to define terrorism for fear of being classified as financiers of terrorism.

Empty sympathy means nothing because talk is cheap. If these countries really want terrorism to end, they must come together and have a serious discussion with no caveats. What’s happening right now is no one considers ISIS as bad. When US sees terror groups, they see a group which can help them achieve their economic goals in Middle East, so they give them money and weapons. When Saudi Arabia sees a terror groups, they see them as a group which will further their religious goals, so they give them weapons and money. When Iran sees it, they look at them as someone who will further their national aims, same with France, Russia and everyone else. Everyone agrees terrorism is bad but only if it happens to them, otherwise it is good. In the process, the terror groups take money and weapons from all side and grow in size, beyond the comprehension of the individual donors.

If the west is serious, they should show their seriousness in their actions.

Need for Comprehensive Strategy

Contrary to popular belief, ideologies CAN be defeated by fighting ground war. After all, Nazism and Communism were defeated only when the US delivered a body blow to them militarily. They camped in Germany after the defeat of Hitler’s army and injected their own values into Germany. Same way, it’s necessary to defeat the Muslim nations and non-state actors militarily and carve out new states with new constitutional values. For example- the formation of Kurdistan will be a step in that direction. The Kurdish people are secular socialists who hate Islamism. And the nation is located at a strategic junction overlooking Turkey, Iraq, Iran, Syria. So all sane nations can pour money and weapons into Kurdistan to keep other Jihadi nations on their toes so that these nations aren’t allowed any spare time and resources to meddle in other nations. The best way of course will be to put boots on ground in Saudi Arabia and destroy the fountainhead of this Islamic imperialism. But then the question is- is the world ready for taking this war to its logical conclusion or suffer thousand cuts as delivered by momins in different places currently?

But it is only a pipe dream as western nations will still use Islam as a political weapon to thwart the advance of Asian civilization given the large percentage of Muslims in Asia and considerably lower in west. So the dance of political correctness will go on and few white men will be willingly sacrificed at the altar of Islamic Jihad to keep Bharat and other similar nations under check. The so called civilized nations have all the reasons to foment and export Jihad around the world. Given this background proud Bharatiya nationalists must contemplate about role of west before changing their Facebook display pictures to condole the tragic events in Europe and extend their solidarity to those, whose governments have used every opportunity to fan the violence in the subcontinent.

Why a theological counter-terrorism narrative is useless

Every time there is new terrorist attack the deniers and Islam apologists go in hyperdrive to prove that it cannot be justified using Quran and it is few miscreants who misunderstand and over-interpret some verses which call for Jihad. It is actually Jihad against oneself and purification of soul rather than Jihad against the Kafir which motivates the pious Muslim. But being a Muslim is more of a product of social conditioning than theology. It’s unlikely that after hearing a scholarly seminary’s rebuttal of the Quran’s alleged misinterpretation, a Muslim will suddenly go “Holy shit! So, I’ve been following the wrong commandments? Let me immediately give up hostility towards the kafirs and become an enlightened individual”. If you listen to Tarek Fateh, 80% Muslims haven’t even read the Quran. So making theological arguments is not going to derail the average Islamist from his pursuits. Denying terrorists and suicide bombers the right to call themselves true Muslims is stupidity at best and Taqiya at worst.

The claim of being misinterpreted itself is false. There is ample objective and unequivocal mainstream endorsement in the religious texts for the kind of ethos that Muslim societies espouse all over the world. Not for nothing has it turned into a monolith of anti-kafir hysteria despite spanning from one corner of the world to the other and despite having sway over people of different ethnic background and languages.

Take for example the claim that blasphemy laws don’t have their genesis in the Quran. But they do! There is a mention in the Quran where a woman disagrees with Mohammad and he sends killers to get her assassinated. Although it is possible that some sort of moderate preachers are propped by the intel agencies of some western countries as a part of their anti-radicalization counter-narrative drive, and maybe they should be allowed to promote a lie if there is a hope that at least a few Muslims might fall for it, but let’s not kid ourselves by believing that it is actually true.

Some commentators criticize later-day Islamic scholars and make it look like the corruption of ideology crept in fairly recently, but in reality it started immediately after the death of Mohammad. The Ummah was inherited by four of Muhammad’s most devout followers: Abu Bakr, Umar, Uthman, Ali. At the same time, the Muslims form Medina were going to elect their own leader. Abu Bakr gate crashed the party, convinced the Medina folks to call off their election, persuaded Umar to forsake his claim to Muhammad’s legacy and became the leader of the people. Leader was a vague term at that time since he had inherited the flock of people from Muhammad, but Abu Bakr himself wasn’t a prophet, nor was he a king. So for the sake of unity of the Bedouin Muslim tribes, they created a new political position called Caliph. The rights and responsibilities of this Caliph were made up as time passed, taking guidance from various instances of Muhammad’s life. Of course, not everyone was pleased with Abu Bakr’s ascension, especially the followers of Ali. The sectarian war has been going on ever since. So anyone telling that the sectarianism and political Islam is a recent phenomenon or a perversion is a blatant lie. It is the mainstream Islam.

The Muslims in this clip have everything in common with the native Japanese, the only difference being their religion. The drastic difference of demeanour is apparent for everyone to see. The violent behaviour is consistent with the behaviour of their jihadi brothers in all corners of the world. What’s their excuse for their extremism in Japan? Do you remember anyone demolishing any Babri Masjid in Japan? This is the exclusivism and victimhood at play and instances like Babri are just a scapegoat used in grand scheme of things.

Fact of the matter is that Islam is a political ideology to subjugate men. It has never been about seeking knowledge and self-improvement. So giving Muslims more knowledge of the Quran is not going to help in any constructive way. It has never been about correct interpretation of Islam as the ideology leaves it open for the right leader to come and instil the feelings of hatred against kafir. It is like sitting on a tinderbox and expecting it to not catch fire. If someone tries to reform himself, he is immediately declared an apostate and hounded by the community. Thus making the escape velocity to get out of this madness called Islam very high.

Black ‘Lies’ Matter

The cold-blooded murder of another unarmed black man by US police has once again brought to the fore the simmering racial resentment brewing in the seemingly peaceful ‘land of the free’ — the US of A.

Maybe now would be a good time for all those CIA-funded organizations like Ford Foundation and Greenpeace which are so fond of setting up self-righteous institutions preaching ‘democratic values’ to India to set up some of those institutions on US soil, since the US seems to need them more. Also, last year Obama castigated Bharat on our own soil for our allegedly shoddy state of human rights and exalted Gandhian values, which he thinks Bharat has strayed away from. Maybe someone should remind him of the values of Martin Luther King which his country seems to have strayed away from, given that black kids are being shot in the streets like it’s open season.

Interestingly, to remind the US of its human rights violations, China has set up a human rights council exclusively dedicated to hearing human rights violations happening in the US (informally referred to as the “China Human Rights Report”). This government organization was apparently started by China as a tit-for-tat response to the US taking potshots at China being a human rights shithole. Immediately after this happened, the US reports about Chinese human rights violations went down drastically. Now China rarely gets any coverage in the US media except an oblique and vague reference here and there about lack of ‘freedom’, but the pointed ideologically motivated attacks aimed at shaming China on the international platform have stopped.

BEIJING, April 14 (Xinhua) — China published a report on the United States human rights situation on Thursday. The report, titled “The Human Rights Record of the United States in 2015,” was released by the Information Office of the State Council, China’s cabinet, in response to “the 2015 Country Reports on Human Rights Practices” issued by the U.S. State Department. China’s report says that the United States made comments on the human rights situation in many countries while being tight-lipped about its own terrible human rights record and showing not a bit of intention to reflect on it.

India should start something like that and set up a panel to hear those Americans whose rights have been violated. Bharat should offer scholarships to families whose siblings are killed by the American police and invite them to come to Bharat and speak about the atrocities being committed on them by the US government — just like the US government sponsors activists like Priya Pillai and Arundhati Roy to badmouth our government. It should also aim to strike a strong alliance with the black community based on the deep-rooted and common ethos of civil rights activism against white man’s racism, building upon the foundation of our respective Mahatma Gandhi and their Martin Luther King legacy.

At the same time, the Muslim clerics in the US should urge black citizens to convert en masse to Islam and continue their struggle against the US government with international backing, instead of staying as second-class citizens under the Christian fold dominated by Anglo-Saxon Protestant White Men. Only then will the #BlackLivesMatter movement have any real traction. Otherwise it will be relegated just to the status of a Twitter hashtag. They need to follow the example of the late Mohammed Ali to take the fight to the white supremacists.

Soviets had a history of igniting black-white race tensions. They leveraged this fault line very well during the Cold War — sending forged letters purporting to be from black people, addressed to the heads of armed white supremacist militias, which would then invariably trigger racial tensions. Now that the Soviet Union is no more, India, Russia, and China should set up a fund to help the black struggle in the US. Once this tinderbox is ignited, the US will have their hands full, and they will be disadvantaged against using underhanded tactics against developing BRICS nations, since their resources and attention will be divided and focused on handling their own problems.
